Many thanks to Paul Keppel for sharing his best of 2016. Paul is another full member of Photographers 4 Weddings, you can see his full profile here. But first check out his year below.
2016 was a amazing year for me, I shot close to 40 weddings in and around Cornwall and Devon, I also photographed weddings in London, isles of Scillies and the south of France. As well as attending 4 very informative photography courses, winning wedding photographer of the year at the Simply wedding awards and having two of my creative flash images winning international awards. Moreover I found out that I will be becoming a dad to a baby girl due in March and linking back to my passion I am sure you will see more baby photography pictures.
Along the year I have met amazing people and been apart of incredible moving wedding days and when looking back at all the photos it’s so hard to point out a favourite wedding or best picture. I’ve put together a compilation of some of the wedding shots for this blog which was not the easiest of task. At first count I managed to cut my favourites down to 586 photos.
As an artist I am constantly striving to push and better myself and practice new ideas and generally be more creative. In attending the courses this year I have familiarised myself with different styles of documentary wedding photography and have learned an incredible amount form leading highly experienced photographers. I have furthermore changed the way I think at wedding and the equipment I use, which I feel has stopped me shooting in an idle style and thus now feel I’m more part of the action and give my photos a more intense and intimate quality.
I’m looking forward to the year ahead with the diary mostly filled up and creating more dramatic portraits for my couples.
Here are some of my favourite moments from 2016
